After day one was canceled due to inclement weather, Jason came out with a good showing on what would be the second day of competition. 22lbs. 10oz. landed him in second place, and his big bag was anchored by a 7lb. 10oz. Guntersville giant.
The fishing was easy, Quinn said of day one of competition, "I've got some places I can go catch a limit pretty easy. Today, I had one in about 10 minutes."
Cathing a limit took longer on day two of competition (scheduled to be day three). Quinn boated 19lbs. 4oz. to remain in 2nd place on "unassuming stretches of banks".
Quinn managed over 15lbs. on the final day, unable to hold off 20lb.+ surges by Kevin VanDam and Mark Tucker, Quinn moved into 5th, his highest finish of the season.
Jason will be fishing the Bassmaster American at High Rock lake. He qualified for the event with his 17th place standing in combined 2 year angler of the year points (the top 47 qualify in this manner).
Jason Quinn, along with Stacey King, Kevin VanDam, Rick Clunn, Woo Daves, and Edwin Evers host a new kind of bass fishing show on Versus (formerly OLN). The show is comprised of segments like "Fishin' in 4" which is a 4-minute mini-segment dealing with a hot bite, new technique or location. Another section is titled "In-Depth" and, like the name suggests, delves deeper into a different topic each week allowing the pro to thoroughly demonstrate a technique. Finally, Rick Clunn's "Art of Angling" segment features Rick examining an aspect of fishing that may often be overlooked but can make big improvements in bass angling success. In 2007, Jason will also be competing in "Ultimate Match Fishing", also on Versus. "Ultimate Match Fishing" will begin airing in the fall of 2007. More information about "Ultimate Match Fishing"
